William Hitchcock retired from the Headquarters of the United States Border Patrol (USBP) as the Director of the Strategic Communications Division in 2019. He has over 28 years of federal law enforcement experience, including executive leadership, management, and supervisory roles at the local, regional, national, and international levels. His expertise spans operations, administration, intelligence, communications, training, liaison, and logistics, earning him a reputation for achieving organizational goals through innovation and leadership.
During his USBP career, William served as the Associate Chief of Southwest Border Operations, the Sector Division Chief of Operations, and a Supervisory Course Development Instructor at the USBP Academy. He also possesses extensive international experience, having served as the Customs and Border Protection Attaché in Afghanistan and Iraq, along with multiple deployments to Turkey, South America, Northern Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Upon retirement, leveraging his extensive experience collaborating with the Department of State, Department of Defense, and multiple other government agencies in security and leadership development, William transitioned to consulting. He has since worked as a consultant and program manager with several international security and technology-related firms in more than twenty countries worldwide. William holds an active TS/SCI clearance.
